Please Help Our Philipstown Little League (No Cost to You!)

Hello Philipstown Residents!

     Philipstown Little League is experiencing a welcome uptick in participation, across both our baseball and softball programs. We are thrilled to see so many children expressing an interest in Little League, especially after the tough year many of us have endured. It is our hope that by participating in sports, the children will learn important life skills such as team work, dedication, leadership and the constant desire to improve.

     For those who may not be aware, Philipstown Little League is a small 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, run by a group of dedicated volunteers. Income is generated from donations (which are tax deductible) and registration fees. Not a single volunteer, from Coaches to Concession Stand (including Board Members) draw a salary for their contributions of time and expertise in helping the children of our community grow.

     While Philipstown Little League collects registration fees for each participant that can afford to do so, we do not receive any direct contributions from our local tax base. Registration fees alone could never make up for the costs of sports materials such as nets, tees, balls, etc. Nor would registration fees be sufficient to provide maintenance and repair of our fields and concession stand, bathrooms, scoreboards, dugouts, and the many other items that make the games and practices possible.

     Therefore, we are in serious need of additional sources of revenue, above and beyond registration and team sponsorships. While you may not have a child participating directly in the league, perhaps you have a grandchild, niece, nephew, or friend of the family playing. Please consider supporting them, and the community at large, with a donation to the Philipstown Little League.

     Alternatively, if you are a business owner, sponsoring a team is a great form of advertising and encourages many to “Shop Local”. In addition to being a team sponsor, there are other ways local businesses can help. Please consider making a tax deductible donation, or donate relevant products or services that your business provides.
