Jr. Minors - Grades K-2, registration fee $100
Intended for Players in grades K-2 who are still learning the game.
This level is non competitive. All kids get on base every time at bat.
It is a mix of Coach Pitch and kids hitting off a tee.
All teams will have 1 practice during the week and a game on Saturdays.
Your child must at least be in Kindergarten.
If your child is in Kindergarten but has not played organized Baseball before we recommend they do a year in the Rec Tball program before playing at this level.
If you Child is a skilled 2nd grader they MAY be ready for the Minors. Please read Minors description below.
Minors - Grades 2-5, registration fee $150
Intended for skilled 2nd Graders through 4th graders.
A competitive game environment with kids pitching. Most of the pitchers are 4th graders.
Games are Umpired by Philipstown teenagers with Baseball experience.
Recommendation for determining if your 2nd grader is ready for Minors: Your child should be able to catch at least 75% of balls thrown to him or her and should feel comfortable in the batters box facing live pitching.
Players in 5th or 6th grade CAN play at this level if they are not ready for the very competitive Majors division.
Players will have 1 practice and 2 games per week. One game will be Tuesday or Thursday and there will always be a Saturday game. We do not schedule games Memorial Day weekend.
Majors - Grades 5-7, registration fee $200
Very competitive play with very fast pitching and hard hit balls.
All games Umpired by a professional Umpire via Hudson Valley Umpire Association.
Priority will be given to 5th and 6th grade players who are ready for the Majors. IF there is room for 4th graders a try out for just that grade will be held.
Recommendation for determining if your Child is ready for Majors: Your child should be able to catch 100% of catchable balls thrown to them. They should be comfortable in the batters box facing very fast pitching and they should be prepared for balls to be hit to them at very high speeds.
This division plays in Fishkill in addition to playing other Philipstown teams.
If we feel your child would not be safe at this level we will let you know, and they will have a chance to play and develop in the Minors.
Guidelines:
There will be a Free clinic day in March (tentative date March 18th) where the coaches will view all of the kids in action and can help Parents determine which division the child should play in. Final decision is at the discretion of the Philipstown Little League Board of Directors. A player draft will be held immediately following this free clinic.
We want all of the Kids to play in the right division for them! If we recommend your child moves up or down a level that is different than the level you paid for, don't worry; we will issue any refunds for less costs as needed.

Junior Minors will have 1 practice per week at the Garrison Fields. Practice Time/Day up to the Coach. We do our best to match you up with a Coach that works for you in terms of day/Time. Junior Minors have a game every Saturday morning at 9 or 10:30 at the NHFD fields.
Minors: Must attend tryout. Teams get drafted immediately after tryouts. Preseason, 2 practices per week at NHFD or other area fields. Practice Time/Day up to the Coach. Once games start, usuallly 1 midweek practice, 1 midweek game, and 1 Saturday game every week. All games at NHFD fields.
Majors: Must attend try out. Teams get drafted immediately after tryouts. Preseason, 2 practices per week at NHFD or other area fields. Practice Time/Day up to the Coach. Once games start, usuallly 1 midweek practice, 1 midweek game, and 1 Saturday game every week. All games at NHFD fields.
